How fit do I need to be to do this trek?

Annapurna Base Camp is a Grade B or a moderately difficult trekking route. So any fit person can do this trek, even if you do not have any previous experience. You should be aware of what to expect and mentally prepare for it. Then, as long as you will too, you can.

How long do we walk every day when doing Annapurna Base Camp trekking?

On average, you walk about 4 to 6 hours per day. One or two days can be as less as 3hrs and one or two days can be as long as 7hrs.

What is the highest altitude reached in this trek?

The highest altitude reached is 4190m. This is the elevation of Annapurna Base Camp. ABC is the highest we will climb in this trek.

What about battery charging and hot shower facilities?

Yes, you can charge batteries en route. Charger should be brought. There are hot shower facilities as well. You may have to pay a certain amount for both ($1-$2). Negotiate. Also, a hot water facility could be free at a lower elevation.

Are there ATMs on the way to Annapurna Base Camp?

No. There are no ATMs on this trek route. You will have to draw enough cash in Pokhara or Kathmandu. There are a number of ATMs in these cities. Everything is paid in Nepali rupees. So money should be exchanged before the start of the trek.

What about internet access?

Yes. The Internet can be accessed in most places. Sometimes, there might be some technical problems. The Internet in Nepal is not as fast as you are used to and at times you can just lose connection.

Is it necessary to hire Guides/trekking agency for Annapurna Base Camp trekking?

Not really. It depends on you. If you want, ABC trekking can be done independently. You could hire a guide and a porter by yourself instead of going through an agency or not hire a guide at all. Although, not having a guide can be a little problematic during the offseason. It really depends on you. Is it your first time in Nepal? How confident are you of being able to find your way around? How pressed on time are you? If you go through an agency, it will be costlier but everything will be planned. You will only have to come, trek and return.

How much do guides and porters cost?

For the Annapurna region, pay for guides range from $20 to $30 per day and porters take $15 to $25 per day.

Your adventure begins with your arrival at Bhubaneswar Airport or Railway Station, where our representative will welcome you and assist with your onward transfer to Bhitarkanika National Park.

Often promoted as the “Mini Amazon of India,” Bhitarkanika is famous for its fascinating mangrove ecosystem, waterways and diverse wildlife.

Upon arrival, check in to your Nature Camp and enjoy lunch.

After some rest, begin your first exploration of the surroundings.

Afternoon & Evening Experiences

Day 3 :

After breakfast, proceed for your Bhitarkanika exploration.

🐊 Crocodile & Mangrove Experience

Begin with a visit to:

Afterwards, proceed to Dangmal Forest Jetty to begin your memorable boat journey through the mangrove waterways.

🚤 Mangrove Forest Boat Safari

Cruise through the beautiful creeks and waterways of Bhitarkanika on a boat safari.

The journey may take approximately 4–5 hours, depending on the route, tides and local conditions.

Keep your eyes open for the magnificent wildlife of the mangrove ecosystem, including:

🌊 Habalikhati Sea Beach

The forest trek is approximately 2.8 km, offering a wonderful opportunity to experience the landscape at a slower pace.

Enjoy the peaceful beach environment before returning towards the Nature Camp.

After completing the day's exploration, return to the camp and relax.

Day 4 :

🛕 Day 3 Bhitarkanika → Maa Biraja Shakti Peeth → Similipal Tiger Reserve

Similipal Nature Camp Stay

After breakfast, check out from the Nature Camp at around 8:00 AM and begin your journey towards Similipal Tiger Reserve.

En route, visit the revered Maa Biraja Shakti Peeth, adding a cultural and spiritual dimension to your wildlife journey.

Continue towards Similipal through changing landscapes, villages and forest surroundings.

On arrival, check in to your Tent/Cottage accommodation.

Spend the afternoon relaxing amidst nature.

After an early breakfast, get ready for a full day of exploration inside the Similipal Tiger Reserve, subject to forest permissions, permitted zones and prevailing conditions.

🌄 Gurguria

After completing the necessary entry formalities and permits, proceed towards Gurguria.

Enjoy beautiful views of:

Forest-covered hills
Meadows
Tribal villages
Scenic landscapes

This is also a wonderful opportunity for nature and landscape photography.

💦 Barehipani Waterfall

Continue towards the spectacular Barehipani Waterfall, one of the most impressive natural attractions of the Similipal landscape.

Take some time to enjoy the surrounding forest and capture the beauty of the waterfall.

💦 Joranda Waterfall

Next, proceed towards Joranda Waterfall.

Surrounded by dense forest and dramatic landscapes, the waterfall provides a peaceful break during the day's forest exploration.

🐾 Chahala Wildlife Zone

In the later afternoon, proceed towards Chahala, a popular wildlife-viewing area.

Spend approximately 2 hours, subject to the day's permitted schedule, observing the forest surroundings and looking for wildlife.

Keep your camera ready — the forest may reveal deer, birds and other wildlife at any moment.

Wildlife sightings are natural and cannot be guaranteed.

After completing the day's safari and sightseeing, return towards Ramtirtha / Lulung by evening.

Relax at your accommodation and enjoy the peaceful forest atmosphere.

Enjoy the changing landscapes as you travel from the forest region towards the city.

On reaching Bhubaneswar, you will be dropped at the Bhubaneswar Railway Station or Airport in the evening according to your onward travel schedule.
